GEORGE TREMBLAY

Of all musicians, composers, orchestrators and musical directors that the Province of Quebec has produced in the passed fifty years, George is without any doubt amongst the most highly respected and esteemed.

George has participated as arranger, musical director and/or musical and artistic consultant for more than four thousand television programs, on French and English channels for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Radio Canada, T.V.A., T.V.O. And JPL Productions.

Since 1961, he has produced and/or co-produced seven hundred albums of which over two thousand singles were in the top ten for Canadian artists as well as for artists of international reputation.

George, well educated in music and advertising, has more than thirty years experience in marketing research, advertising methods and communications. Producer, composer, arranger, it would be difficult to count the number of French jingles he has written for adds that have contributed to the mark-up of sales for products and services for such companies as: Chrysler, Datsun, Yamaha, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pepsi, Panasonic to name a few. These French ads were on a national scale for TV and radio.

George has continually stayed up to date both in music and in advanced studio recording techniques. This has made him a valuable producer and consultant for specialists in the recording field.

Georges has also arranged and conducted for many American, French, Italian and Canadian artists for festivals, concert halls and in supper clubs in the U.S.A., Europe and Canada. He has also enjoyed a fine reputation as a pianist/entertainer across Canada.

Born of a Scottish mother and a French Canadian father, he is perfectly bilingual. In addition to his classical music and jazz/pop education, this fine parental mixture has made of him a great lover of Scottish, Irish, Hebrew and French folklore dating back to the Celtic period.

In 1996, Georges was thinking of retiring when a recording company made him an offer to record quiet, relaxing, easy-listening piano music. The contract was for five albums. Due to the success of the project, George is recording his tenth album which will be a double album celebrating his fifty years in the business.

Throughout his career, George has maintained his status amongst the best musicians in the country. He has also attained this position by keeping in touch with the evolution in musical and rhythmic tendencies. If he has a well deserved reputation in the stage, TV and publicity fields, he has also won the respect and admiration of his fellow musicians, and this is one of the highest honour one can achieve in this particular "milieu".
